I will say, photobucket kinda screwed me in that I had to do it without pictures, but I got it all buttoned up and looking great.

I wasn't able to figure out where the antenna adapters went, btw. I did not feel great putting everything back together and having two pieces unused, the antenna y cable and the other antenna adapter. THus far, both am/fm and HD fm work, bluetooth, etc. so we shall see...

Haven't forgot about this thread. I've actually JUST received the backup camera 2 days ago. Apparently its ships via pigeon from China.

Hey man, help me out, I'm confused on my back-up cam install. Now, I got the
PAC cam-ty12 Reverse Camera Harness - PACharness from amazon or eBay. Basically, I've hooked that thing up to the back of my radio in the only slot it fits. I dont have anything connected to the other side though, because I don't have any factory plugs that do. I've got an RCA cable that connected to that harness that goes all the way to the camera in the tailgate. I've run the power and ground cable and the RCA cable on the drivers side.

Things that confuse me, is where do I tap into power for the camera? The directions from PAC say not to do the reverse lights because the camera needs constant power. In some threads I've seen, people have recommended to tap a Red/Yellow wire under the driver side door sill. However the guy who said that said he tapped it with the reverse sensing wire.

So initially I planned to tap that Red/Yellow wire for my power, but 1, there's 300 wires in that bundle and no wire specifically stuck out to me, and of course those pics are no longer hosted. And 2 he said he tapped camera power to his reverse lights and the reverse sensing wire there. So now I don't know what he means by reverse sensing wire.

So where did you connect power, did you have to tie any wires from your OEM harnesses to the camera adaptor harness, and did you do anything with a reverse sensing wire? Any pics would be helpful.

I'm stuck here too. Exact same situation with a slightly different harness. My harness instructions said to connect the camera positive and negative to accessory power (doing so at the rear cigarette lighter). But cannot tell which output from the PT546-00160 is the reverse sensing wire.

EDIT: I bought a 12V camera and that may be the issue as PT546-00160 may require a 6V camera.

Did you get your camera working? The one you link to is a 12V camera...everything I'm seeing around the web says that the PT546-00160 needs a 6V camera. ???

While that may be the case, I don't see why the radio cares where the camera gets its power. Only if you try to tap power from the radio itself, would you run into issues with 6v/12v. Regardless, I just hooked up my camera to the battery, and put my car in reverse and nothing happened. But again, I haven't done anything with the 'reverse wire'.

For navigation you will need Toyota Part No.: PT296-12160
You will also need the brackets to attach the navigation module to the radio- PT228-18160

I've tried running a 12v signal from the rear reverse tail light to the 2nd pin in the 24 pin harness. I measured 12v was indeed arriving only upon shifting into reverse. Didn't flip the screen to another "source", i.e. like the RCA input. I honestly don't think Pin 2 is the input for a reverse signal as a result of my testing. Could there be some versions of this 2016 Scion radio that don't have reverse camera capability?

Edit: I agree about your thought that the radio shouldn't care if the camera is running 12v or 6v. Those that have the 6v camera are running power from the radio (6v). I'm not getting power from the radio but from an accessory 12v source that is definitely supplying 12v to the camera. The camera is outputting about 1.5v from the RCA plug when the 12v accessory source is powered. It's the radio not recognizing when reverse is engaged (and not knowing to switch input to the RCA source.)

When I first installed my camera, it would not display on the screen when I put it in reverse. I rechecked everything and found nothing wrong. Only after I started my 4Runner and the engine was running would the camera display. Now it will display every time, even with the engine off. Not sure why it worked that way, crazy.
I think all of the newer Scion radios are camera capable.

Also try this
Diagnostic menu 2016 scion radio
Turn the key to accessory and let your radio start up
Hold down the media button and turn the headlights on and off 3x all the way
A diagnostic menu will come up. Go to vehicle signal and you can check your reverse signal. You can then shift in and out of reverse and see if the signal changes, if not then the reverse signal wire is wired wrong.
