Pulley noise?

I have a humming/roaring sound coming from the front of my engine. Does it at idle when engine is cold. Once it heats up, the sound goes away for the most part. Inspected my pulleys and all of them felt perfectly fine. Inspected my fan and found the fan loose as in the bearing was loose. Replaced the fan clutch but it still makes that noise. I've had it in two shops and no one can figure it out. What's the best way to check the pulleys

pull your serpentine belt off and turn one pulley at a time. Listen for any kind of grinding or metal on metal noise. Check to see if they have too much play in them as well.

Could be your waterpump bearing. If you checked all the pulleys and it's not loose, it could be that.

Check these as well. Ac, power steering and all the other stuffs that rotate.

After starting your alternator could be trying hard to charge up a weak battery. Check the battery to see.

My '97 4Runner with the V6 does this for a short time in the mornings when cold. It's the fan clutch. Why your engine would have to warm all the way up for it to stop...I dunno. Maybe the replacement fan clutch is bad as well. With the engine cold (and off), does the fan spin by hand with a fair amount of resistance?
