Well here goes. Driving in the blind as im not sure exactly how you guys want us new guys to do these things. Ive asked a few members and researched and found nothing but harshness, rude literature and foul talk.
But to each his own. God Bless the ones that have helped, will help and are helping and especially those who don't!


This is The day we got back from picking it up. Was an all nighter. Met the guy around 23:40 and he was cool enough to stay up and walk us through direction wise(first time my wife left Texas)

I bought my T4R about 6 months ago. Been a slow start but im finally getting into it. I paid 3500 and shes a rust bucket. She came from up state NY I believe. I bought it from OK City. 1998 Toyota 4-Runner double stick standard 4wd. Never been more happy! I love camping, Mainly off the beaten path so thats what this build will be about! The long haul for Paul Revere so to speak.
I would imagine myself getting into some more extreme climbing in the future but more less this will be a cross country vehicle!

So far Mod wis ive done the silencer mod....anddd thats about it.
I have been modding my rear cargo to better suit camping life.
I built a Fold out Bed for my 2 Girls to sleep on when we camp or on long Hauls. Not sure how legal that is....? I remeber sleeping in the bed of my dads pickup from Tx to Tennessee. Its not big, But big enough. It will all end up Being Covered. Just not sure what ill cover the outside WIth. Needs to be durable though. The matress will be upholstered with an easily cleaned pleather.
But as for now thats where i stand! I ordered Fron rear and sliders from Addicted Off-Road. Just waiting to get them in. In process of working on the Drawer system and figuring out my options for suspension replacement.
As for the rust Bucket under neath. I have a guy in Dallas The Toyota Guy Looking for a replacement frame.
Im the Shipping/Recieving Superintendant at a Blas and paint yard and will be getting the new frame blasted and painted with the a Rich Zinc and a few coats of epoxy! So rust will no longer be an issue!

I like your idea and looks great so far! If I wasn't so tall I was thinking of doing the same thing.

And to answer your question on legality, no it's not legal. If you had to come to a quick stop or got hit while your girls were laying down in the back... it would not be a good thing and they could get seriously injured. Just food for thought there...

Still waiting on the Addicted Off-Road armor so to give myself something to do in the mean time I ordered the 3 inch Rough Country Suspension lift. Did I do good? I don't know. Time will tell. Regardless for now we wait.

Interesting observation on this forum... I'd really enjoy some examples. Mostly for comedic relief.

As for the legality of your bed for your girls... I'd be less worried about the legality and more the safety.

Puma Speed Cat was THE shoe. The most comfortable of all shoes. They were discontinued for a Long time. Replaced with those foam sole pieces of nothingness. But at the begging of the year after many emails and complaints they brought them back temporarily. I bought em out on my size lol.
As for comedic relief, I meant no foul play. Only what I observed. Just seems quite a few negative members get cranky when the wrong question is asked. As for the examples. Just search suspension lol.

Annnnd I pulled a bolt out of the top of the strut trying to install my new Rough Contry spacers on my stock coilovers. Any suggestions on a pair of replacements

We're to assume you can't re-install the bolt? Which bolt was it?

The top Mount bolt. One of the 3 that hold the strut I'm guessing...sorry I'm suspension illeterate. They are old stock and rusted. I went to unbolt them to mount the spacer and it started off good but then it just gave. The top nut wasn't coming off at all. The stud itself was. I'm sure I could get it re studded with a new bolt granted I can get it off without damaging it but if the bolts are that tender what says you for the rest? At this point I believe my best bet is replacing? Idk. I have access to spring compressor. Have the mechanic know how. What's the most economic way to go. Mind you I just dropped 2600 on my Addicted Bumpers and another 400 on the Rough country rear shocks and springs

You just need to order new top plates for the spring assembly. Probably $25 on Amazon, Rock Auto or through your local auto parts store.

Thanks man, Got em ordered. Part Number FM1271 Replacement Coilover top deck plate.
Went ahead and ordered Blistein 5100's with Toytec-Eibach 112620's for replacements.
Am i correct to assume they will not come with top decks and i will still need to order a pair?

Did you get the rough country installed yet? I'm curious to know how it rides?

I sure did. I had the death wobble before. I couldn't let the steering wheel go without it rocking side to side. Killed my gas mileage having to speed up and slow down to keep it from doing it. Installed the rough country and now I'm all good. No wobble. Just got back from the beach. Love it. Rides loose. Not too stiff. I ordered blistein 5100 struts with toytec shocks for the front. Can't wait to get them in. Should be a completely diferent ride. I'm hoping.

Nothing A.Wilson013. Just installing my new front coilovers. Having hell too. But I got one side in. Here's to the other.
