Purple Nurple

Has anyone added royal purple to their differentials? I've done it before on other cars and had some pretty good success. Just wondering if anyone has done it, and if they noticed any type of improvements.

You will NOT get any performance improvements no matter what differential fluid you add. Royal purple may increase the longevity, but will NOT add anything in ways of performance or increase gas mileage.

Yeah,realistically you won't see any real world gains from fluids (on a dyno you can see a little here and there) but having a quality synthetic (IMO) is an upgrade for it's ability to maintain a constant temperature and flows well in extreme temps.

I run royal purple in my diffs and transfer case and noticed a decrease in cabin noise from the engine and drive train during regular driving.
I had some good Advance Auto coupons that got the price of Royal Purple down to where I could afford it.
I do agree that changing over to synthetic regardless of the manufacturer will offer good results.
As for Royal Purple being better this dyno run with Royal Purple is what sold me on it. I was more impressed by the drop in operating temp than anything else.

I've done two jeeps with purple in the rear diffs. The main difference i saw saw about 20-30 more miles on a full tan. Both jeeps had a 20gal tanks, both with the 4.0l. I think I'm going to do the rear diff. and see if if i get any better mileage. If i do, then I'll move to the front diff..

Sorry to be the debbie downer guys, but I actually recall hearing that while making a superb engine oil, their drivetrain fluids were not-so-good. Don't quote me on this as I could be entirely wrong..... but just sayin!

There are a lot of opinions out there as well as on here
Everyone has a favorite product for their own reasons. Same goes for tires and just about everything else. I even know people that won't fill at certain gas stations.
In the end it comes down to how much you want to spend.
