I was trying to tell you to be a smart consumer (because so many people get ripped off or hustled when buying a car they just want the car and don't care about the price because they have money but are a horrible consumer) when buying your 4runner or any vehicle for that matter, there are people out there that will literally give them away for next to nothing, my friend bought an 03 silver limited v8 with 85k miles 3inch lift and 33s on rims for 8k cash it was a deal the guy was asking 12.5 he brought him 8grand. he actually just put it up on craigslist for 14k to make a easy flip on it. Alot of people are hurting and can't afford the maintenance so they sell the car for much cheaper. Deals can be sought if you are patience, persistent and consistent in your search on craigslist or how every you buy a car! I on the other hand would like to be patience and persistent when looking for a buyer. (I want the buyer that cashes out no questions asked because he is a bad consumer and just wants a built 4runner price/money is not an issue for them) My ideal buyer is a kid (16-22) who comes from a wealthy family and really wants a built 4runner he begs and kicks and screams and whines to mommy and daddy until they buy it for him. I lived in EL Dorado Hills, CA for 10+ years and you will be surprised how many parents will buy whatever for there child and don't care about the price as long as it keeps there kid happy and off drugs and going to school. I can't tell you how many of my friends are spoiled rotten one for example just got a 2013 e63 amy mercedes and a 2013 f350 with 20k in aftermarket parts because his 2010 range rover couldn't tow his 2012 master craft x star with a custom camo wrap good enough. It's insane they have money out the wazoo and are the worst consumers. they are the type of people you see driving down the street with $20 bills flying out the back and quarters dropping out of the exhaust pipe. But that is my target market and I will wait till one of them wants my 4runner for 20k. You all on the other hand are knowledgable have done your research there for you want a deal. Which is not a bad thing just have to wait patiently until you find your chance.
Me personally I stay away from cars that are owned by anyone under 30. Especially sports cars I like to buy from old guys with kids. I would personally not buy a truck that has had the shit wheeled out of it! I would not buy myself a daily driver that has been across the rubicon trail. But some people will and would because that appeals to them each person is different. But like I said you have to pick your target market and sell to the right consumer. Everyone on this forum I would say would be a good consumer because they are knowledgeable they are here doing their homework, vs they guy that has 25k cash to spend on an suv looking at used one comes along finds this for 20k and has to have it does no research drives the car once looks it over then cashes out! But I personally would never buy a modded car, or something that had been wheeled hard! When I bought this truck It looked like it had never been wheeled and never off the street.
damn I'm actually really jealous you must stay on the water! I bought this boat from my uncle last year for 13k it had 104 original hours he bought the boat brand new in 2003 he owned a mortgage company so seldom had much free time to use it with the family+kids. He was able to take the boat to lake shasta once a year to go house boating for a week and that was the only time it was used. It was stored inside his warehouse and winterized every year and had all maintenance records since new. He just put about an average of 10hours a year on it for 10 years. I bought it last year when my aunt got skin cancer in her breast from to much sun exposure. I put almost 100 hours on the boat last summer. Did all the maintenance this year and kept it super clean. It just was not used due to lack of time. I had it on the water about 30 days last year. It has crazy low hours for the year. I see all these boat 2004-2007 and they got 900 hours Im like damn you guys are abusing the hell out of that thing the interior is all ripped up and its trashed kind of a shame but when I use the boat I drive out to the lake wakeboard for an hour drink for 3-4 hours then wakeboard for another hour and call it a day. so I do about 2.5 hours on the motor in a 8hour period on the lake!
I wish I could do that but time = Money and I rather sell it in one piece.
