Yes, that is correct. It is just an on/off switch that goes in one of the knock outs. The switch connects to 2 wires on the wiring harness that goes to the steering wheel. If you want to, you can also replace the whole turn signal steering wheel stalk with one that has a fog light switch. I don't think it is that hard to install, but it costs more $$$.

hello all, does anybody happen to have a part# for the turn signal stalk mentioned above by benormous that has the fog light switch in it? i tried to get one from a yota dealer and they recomended i track down the part number, they said they cant look it up because it isnt stock with my ride (2000 SR5) and if i got the wrong one they wouldnt be able to take it back. Much appreciation, Chris

84140-20560 is for a '99 SR5 w/fog. Go to toyodiy.com, plug in YOUR vin, and see if it comes up as an option (ELECTRICAL/SWITCH&RELAY/Page 6 of 7 in '99, probably the same in 2000). Their database is good, but not as specific to the individual vehicle as the dealer so it is actually better for stuff like this. I DON'T have factory fogs, but it shows both for my VIN.
