PVC valve Replaced (Concern)

So I replaced my PVC valve a few wks ago and noticed it was Extremely dirty, but what concerned me more was how much crud there was inside the intake manifold.. I’ll post a pic of what I pulled out with a hanger, let me know if it’s something I should be concerned about. Thanks

Do you mean from the valve cover? The PCV valves are known to get pretty gunked up, so much that they no longer open and cause all sorts of weird symptoms.

You could switch to a synthetic oil and reduce the mileage between oil changes if you're concerned you have sludge in the engine. A good engine flush product or Seafoam/MMO will help if that will help you sleep at night. On the whole though, these engines don't get too sludgy and the ones that do can be easily salvaged with the above methods.

Looks pretty much normal for a neglected engine, nothing serious but I would take steps to clean engine up.
Did you clean tube that is attached to PCV?

Looks to have been sitting in the valve cover much too long. Frequent oil changes and a new OEM PCV and the OP should be fine.

Yeah I got it in October and it had been neglected by the last owner so I replaced pretty much everything with OEM parts, and also put penzoil platinum in it. Hopefully with all that and a fuel system cleanse it will clean it up. I was just concerned seeing all that crud but I feel better about it now.. Appreciate the input!
