Pyle Marine Headunit - Car Stereos?

I don't know about you all, but the stereo that came with my truck (after market) is getting long in the tooth.

I've been looking for one that came handle the extremes of off road driving. I came across a stereo that's designed for boat use, and was wondering if anyone else has gone this way?

I like that it's resistant to the elements, and has a cover to protect the face when off roading in dusty/muddy conditions.

Also - seeing as my 4Runner is -- kinda old -- I don't want to sink a (pardon the pun) boat load of money into a new stereo.

That's cool. I love the dust cover, I can barely see the screen on my stereo from all the dust that's worked it's way inside.

Yeah mines pretty gunked up too. Oh and I forgot to mention - it also comes in black!

Might have to be the first on my block to test one out. Price seems to be reasonable. Plus it does have enough output watts to sound good. Homey don't need no thump'n woofer - YO!

You know what they say--if it's too loud, you're too old! LOL This is one near-AARP guy who is keeping his subwoofer system! Like the idea of the faceplate cover, too--those trails get a lot of dust in the interior.

It's not that I don't like it LOUD (I do!). I just don't want a big sub taking up room.

See if they have a version with built in blue-tooth. Then you can have hands free phone, or play what music is on your phone, or pandora (if you have a nice data plan).

I had this style radio in my K5, I loved it. Kept all the dust and grime out, and the occasional beer sloshing was diverted without issue. I believe you can buy the dust cover seperately if you dont need the whole radio. I'm considering going with this setup, and some water proof wakeboard tower style speakers to mount on my roll bar. :drummer:

that's basically what I did, except instead of wakeboard tower speakers I ended up getting some OCX trail cans from crawltunes and threw in some marine speakers. good quality enclosures, good clamps, and the roll bar install isn't as obnoxious as I first thought it would be.

I like the specs, especially if it's USB and aux-ready.

Surprisingly my Alpine hasn't got anything in the screen. Not bad for it being ~5 years old or so. I am looking to upgrade to something soon though. A marine unit might not be a bad idea.
