Question about 60K scheduled maintenance ('05 4Runner w/V6 & 4X4)

Hey guys, somewhat new here and have a question about the 60,000 mile maintenance guide.

I called 2 local Toyota Dealerships and got 2 different answers about what they do at the 60,000 mile service for my 2005 4Runner with a V6 & 4-wheel drive.

One dealership said they'd replace the spark plugs and the other said they might not have to. Something to do with the type of spark plugs that were installed (1GRFE). One dealership quoted me $454 & the other quoted me $504. I'm in Central Illinois and my 4Runner was originally sold in Illinois.

Any idea which dealership is correct? I don't want to take it to a dealership that isn't going to do everything necessary at 60K miles.

Change Spark Plugs. 1GRFE engine has near 11:1 compression ratio, therefore those standard plugs go trough lot of stress shock. Just replace them and rest easy. Save money by doing your own. It's easy. There are good directions on this site. Search for it. GL

V6 with factory recommended plugs need to be changed every 30k. What the one dealer told you is not incorrect, however, because some people replace the recommended plugs with Iridium plugs which last 100k. If that is the case then there is no need to replace them.
