Question About Coils

Hey guys, kind of a noob question about coils. I have Bilstein 5100s set to 2.5 inches in the front and 2 inch spacers in the back and I'm in the market for some coils. I'm specifically looking at the OME 886s to gain some lift. It says that these coils add 2.5 to 3 inches ride height. Does this height get added to the shock lift? For example, would the front be lifted to 4.5 inches after installation? Thanks for the help.

No, it doesn't. If you use OME coils on Bilsteins, you must set them at zero.

Bilsteins achieve their lift by compressing the coil and making it tighter, meaning the mass of the truck will not compress the coil as much and sit higher. It also reduce wheel travel. OME coils are not designed to be pre-compressed that much because it makes the ride way to firm and risks making the coil go solid too early.
When selecting OME coils, pay attention to the load recommendations.

Would 5100 billies work well on stock springs with 1.5'' daystar lift? rear.
my billies failed pretty quick about 3 or 4yrs, want to know why, before i replace them. i am considering ranchos, any they any good?

I have the 5100's with 5th gen coils front and rear + daystar 1.5 spacer in rear. works great.

Try the Eibach Pro Truck shocks. Everyone who has them likes them better than the 5100s. I have them and they ride great, but I never had 5100s to compare.
