Question about Cone Bump Stops inside of Rear Coils

I recently picked up a 2000 4runner and compared to my 97 they have the cone bump stops inside of the coils.

Today i finished my OME 891 and Bilstein 5125 installation and decided at the time to not put the cone bump stops back in because i ran the OME 891s in my 97 for a year or so with no problems.

The reason for this thread, is that i cant find a definitive answer through searching if i should put the cone back in or not.

Anyone who has a similar setup want to chime in if you did or not?

only reason i reconsider if i should put them back in is because compared to my 97 i now have longer travel shocks (bilstein 5125) compared to bilstein HDs in the 97.

For those who did put them back in, im reading some people cut some donuts off?

I have 891s and I put them back in because I liked the idea of having the rubber in between the metal. I've seen both and also heard of people cutting out donuts too. No real answer that I have found.

i left mine out when i did my lift, i am going to be putting the passenger one back in but only because that side is a little lower than the driver side, other than that i havent had any problems either. although I would like to have something between the metal as well, maybe just a small piece of rubber even.

I have always used them. They are an overload helper for the stock height. I don't see ever using them for their original purpose. I use them to isolate the steel coil from the steel seat and for the additional (~3/8"). I started with them full but later did cut off a couple donuts on each. I found that when rock crawling and I still one wheel, they would limit compression. If I was running high speeds in sand dunes or the desert where catching air is common, I would leave them full.

Just wondering to help get the most compression/flex as possible you think leaving them out is a good idea?
Anyone know if I risk coils falling out with the 891s and 5125s without the cones?
