Question about my alarm and key fob on my 1997

I recently bought a 1997 4Runner Limited and it has the factory alarm installed, and I have 2 questions.

#1 - My alarm only "chirps" randomly, not all the time. I think there is a loose connection somewhere causing this. What does the actually thing that makes the noise look like? Where is it located?

#2 - My key fob looks like this:

The larger button locks or unlocks the vehicle. What does the 2nd button do? I try pressing it and nothing seems to happen.

I have a 97 SR5 (bought it a couple months ago) with the same remote. I've noticed the same thing with the random chirps, and I too am curious what the bottom button is for. I'll do some digging and see what I can find out. I'll let you know as soon as I get something.

Can't answer about the random chirping. Maybe check the unit under your driver seat and see if there is a loose connection.
As for the bottom button, it does nothing. On 99+ years it can be programmed to raise and lower the back window. I believe it can also be used to lock/unlock another 4Runner do you can set multiple vehicles to one remote.
