question about speedo

well my speedo stopped working about a month ago, so i parked the 4runner for the time being until i could figure things out...what i found out was the tranny speed sensor is suppose to be the cause of the speedo to stop working, well thats wrong...i changed it out this morning and nothing, so i hooked up my bluetooth scanner and it came up the back driverside speed sensor...how can the one sensor be the cause of this, when there is 3 other wheels with the sensors working correctly and will this sensor cause the VSC ON/OFF LIGHTS and the ABS and BRAKE LIGHT to come on?

Does your odometer work? My speedometer died about 6 months ago but for several years before that it would start reading fast after on longer trips by up to 20 mph. It would work fine again after cooling down but eventually quit all together. My odometer still works fine. I just suctioned cupped a garmin gps right over the speedometer on the dash. There is a screen I can go to that shows the speed in big numbers. I like it better than the factory speedo and do not plan to fix it. There have been other post on this forum about the speedometer not working. I think most of them replaced the gage cluster. If buying used or new you would have to get the odometer reset to match what your 4runner has on it if that is important to you.

no my odometer does not work...thats why i was wondering if 1 wheel speed sensor could cause this issue or is it my cluster and also if thats causing the ABS and Brake Light to be on?

well with the VSC TRAC, VSC OFF, ABS AND BRAKE LIGHTS on...i ran the code and the driver rear wheel speed sensor was malfunctioning, so i got a new one today, but before i put it in, i called the dealership...they said what can cause the speed sensor to malfunction is the wheel seal, could be bad and letting grease get to the sensor...he said they've had to change the hubs because everything is pressed in, so i ordered a new one this afternoon off RockAuto for $40...hopefully this works so i can get the Zero Point to work instead of causing the VSC to blink and the ABS to blink
