Question About Wheel Bearings

Goes right on the back of the bearing... Actually buying the whole assy. I assume the seal should be installed already. Just call napa and ask them they should be able to look it up real quick. Do u have the hub assay part # handy? I'll look it up

It looks like it's FW194.

Have to pick up the other side tomorrow because they're getting it delivered from their warehouse.
 
Mother of god whatever you do, buy the wheel bearing AND the hub assembly as one piece!! It's a little more money but completely worth it! It's not bad once you go that route, near impossible to get the hub off the old bearings
 
Yea that's the bearing itself without the hub. Check around to find the assembly, I got mine for like 350-400 for both sides from a Toyota Lexus tech because if they aren't pressed in to the exact specs, expect premature hub failure

Yeah you guys are right. Do you have a part number for that fully assembled unit by any chance?
 
I don't know how to embed images with my iPad or I would show u the difference....I can't find the napa part # of the Assy ? Prolink must be messed up
 
Nah but let me see if I can lookup the seller on eBay for ya, he was the best price I could find and I needed one in a hurry! It was the wife's at the time and the bearing gave way about 3 hours from home...$600 tow bill

Ouch, did the wheel fall off? Mine are howling at me and I need this done quick too. If you can find it that would be awesome, thanks.

The wheel almost fell off, the bearing seized up, and was broken off where the entire assembly has about 1.5" of play, wheel was scraping the caliper, rotor was screwed, abs sensor broken, all sorts of good stuff.

So trust me I would be cautious with it.

My bill was a $600 ish tow
Two new rotors
Calipers
Pads
One abs sensor
Two wheel bearing and hub assemblies

And one pissed off wife lol

Yeah I'm probably gonna order the one I just linked above from the video and hopefully I'll get it in time to do it this weekend. No highway driving till this is fixed...
 
Just ordered the OEM kit, $279 each. Still beats dealer quote for one side so I'm still happy, lol. Now to return the bearing to Napa tomorrow...

Lol, no real warning signs, my wife told me on the. 6 hour drive back she started hearing a grinding sound and I thought they would be the cv joints since when we put the lift on we lost a lot of grease, but I had refilled them and sealed them up. So I asked all the other questions and got the vague answers and told her to keep on heading home, dont speed and ill look at it when you get here and she didnt make it lol.

Not a whole lot I could have done but 99% of the time you at least get a couple weeks of warning sounds but I was outta luck.

That's what worries me about mine. It just started Saturday afternoon and has been getting louder with more pronounced vibrations. Very frustrating, guess I gotta expect this stuff with over 117k miles. Hopefully this should be it for a while.
 
Honestly I think it's the northeast shitty roads. I was stationed in the armpit of the northeast (CT) when we bought the 4runner and I wish I could have bought one that wasn't from the north to avoid the rust. I think it had about 100k or so on it when that happened, I would have to look at my maintenance spreadsheet for the exact mileage but I blame the salt and cramp roads for the berings going out. We not had the lift on for about 20k miles at that point but she has been flawless other than that
