Question for Tech Guru's

Hey guys,

I need some help as my Google search-fu seems to be week. I've a Wi-fi iPad and a Samsung Galaxy S7. I am trying to find a way to use my iPad for offline mapping that has GPS location. I use Maps.me for the maps but I can't find a way for it to acquire a GPS signal. Seems both bluetooth and Wi-fi connections between the two don't share the GPS location.

Three options:

• Best option first - Purchase a new iPad with Cellular AND Wi-Fi.
• Purchase a dedicated portable Wi-Fi & mobile hotspot from your carrier such as AT&T Velocity. Connect your iPad to that device. Won't work off the grid.
• Use your phone as a mobile hotspot. Won't work off the grid.

Most use Gaia and create or download routes and tracks before leaving.

Quick EDIT: You can add your iPad to your monthly plan for about $10 a month, no contract. Just cancel when you're not using it.
