Question for those with Comet RS720/730 and Firestik Antenna

I have a Comet RS 720 mount on the way for cliping a Firefly to the tailgate. For those who have used this mount with a Firestik, did you have to chassis ground your mount?

I'm not referring to ground plane but electrical ground of the mount.
