Question if you're running the AVS Bug Deflector

Thanks man that may be the problem. I did not see plastic squares in my hardware. I'll have to call Lund tomorrow to see if I can get the proper hardware.
 
From what I understand from reading other posts, the front is different but the hood is the same. BTW, talked to Lund international and 100% I was sent out the wrong hardware and instructions with my bugdeflector II. They are rushing me out the correct hardware.
 
I have the deflector II and installed onto shield itself. Like others said...the only way I got the deflector to touch hood was me pushing on it.

My cabinet drawers in my kitchen needs 4 of those rubber thingy, so i used them there. It is really up to you, it will not hurt if you put them or not.
 
I have the AVS deflector II. And I think it's great and really don't heed the front end clear paint protectant film. The film is great, but after many years they tend to fade and haze. Then when you remove the film the paint doesn't match up. Clearly visible where there was the protectant film and the rest of the hood.

Will this protect from rock chips ? All I can say is good thing I own a mobile glass shop -lol like 3 repairs in the last week
 
I have been running mine almost since the day I got the truck...no chipped/cracked windshields to date (1yr+).
 
those of you with this bug deflector, does it actually deflect bugs - at least from the bottom portion of the windshield? I frequently am driving in rural areas and in the summer months my windshield gets full of bugs. I've never needed a bug deflector but perhaps it's the angle of the windshield of the 4runner the makes things worse

I have a clear bra on the front as well but that doesn't do anything for bugs (clear bra are great btw)

I didn't really think about it, but I noticed considerably less bug splatter on my windshield following a 1k mile road trip through the upper peninsula of Michigan. This is the first year I've had the bug deflector installed, same route as the past 2 years, same week of the year.

thanks for sharing. I'm on the fence about a bug deflector but really I'll spend a few bucks on a good one if it means I don't get streaky bug splatter all over the windshield, even if it helps avoid it on half the windshield it consider it
