Question on lug nuts

I am going to replace my 20" wheels with some 17" oem rims for only when I am going off road. These will be either stock trail or fj cruiser type rims. Most of the wheels I see for sale on this site or ebay do not include the lug nuts. My 20" lug nuts have a washer on the lug nut that seats against the wheel. I saw a picture of an fj wheel that did include lug nuts and it showed conical seat lug nuts without the washer. Can anyone tell me which wheels I can use and keep my stock lug nuts.

I am 99% sure that all Toyota wheels use the same lugnut. This us in reference to Tacomas, 4Rs, FJs, and even Tundras. However the bolt pattern for a Tundra is different. Just stick with the trail/fj factory wheels and you're good to go.

The black 17" FJ oem Steelies do use the 60 degree acorn lug nuts and the rest of the oem FJ's wheels use the mag style with the washer same as ours. Not sure on the TRD ones as some take special lug nuts and some the 60 degree.

The TRD wheels that came on my 2013 FJTT took a special conical splined TRD lug nut...
I am not sure if they are actually needed, but the lugs were deep set in the wheel and a long splined tool was needed to reach them.
Just double check the fit or order the matching nuts for the said wheel.

I'm still pretty sure the oem fj steelies can still use the factory mag style lug nuts. It just uses the very end if the lugnut which is conical. Otherwise, you'd have to carry separate lug nuts with you if you had oem aluminum wheels with a steelie spare.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

You are correct. I used the spare tire a month ago and it works just fine with the stock lug nuts.

I'll just piggy back on this. Can I use the acorn shaped lugs I have for my Mojaves for the stock spare if needed or do I need to pick up a set of oem lugs? If so, where is the cheapest place to get a set of six?

You did not keep any of your old lugs after you bought Mojaves ? I gotta bunch if you didn't ! There's a place n Orange Co I buy my oem black ones from , let me find receipt .

So will the aftermarket acorn lugs work with spare wheel, or do I need to pick up some OEM lugs?
