One pointer Is to run some hot water in a container and leave the spray can there to keep it warm in between coats or before spraying

I believe for dry time I just went by the recommendation on the can. Also I used almost 3 cans on 4 wheels about 3-4 coats each. Just make sure the nozzle is about 8-12 inches away from the surface you are spraying. Any closer or farther away and the finish comes out looking poor. Also dont overdue each coat. The first coat will look minimal and a slight haze over the original. Dont panic. It takes multiple coats and time. If ya rush and try to darken it up right away it ends up looking terrible. I believe there are several posts on this site just search plastidip and you will find a bunch of discussions and tips. Good luck
i have done mine about three times, because i have had 3 new tire sets mounted.
1) be patient: after the 3rd wheel you really want to be done with the process but speed is your enemy
2) if you can find some jack stands, use them. doing 2 or even all 4 at once will be a huge time saver.
3) i used 2 full cans on all 4. 1 can will cover 2 wheels the best.
4) i did 5 coats total. the first coat was just a general coating to apply a look similar to the look of dirty rims. make this layer thin and believe it will fill in. the next coat goes on just a little thicker, then the 3rd coat will be a pretty good coverage coat (dont over do it). the 4th coat will be a general coat alot like the second but being sure to hit the tough spots and places lacking. the 5th coat will be exactly like the 3rd but dont overdue it so it doesnt drip.
5) i allowed 15mins between coats but i also did mine in a parking garage. just give it a light touch and make sure nothing is still tacky and coming off onto your fingers.
6) CLEAN YOUR RIMS!! that is where the weak spots will show and you'll have to redo them shortley. i saved this step close to last so you wont forget.
7) this is more of a recomendation: try to not wash your car for about a week, let the plastidip really adhere to rims.
This is how I did it, im not an expert but i dont mind sharing my knowledge. it may be a bit of overkill for some people but my rims look great to me. hopes this helps.

I used about 3 cans for all four wheels. I know most people say a can a wheel, but my arm felt like it was going to fall off haha. I'd recommend get the trigger style spray can attachment also which makes it much easier.
Mine is starting to chip up in a few places because my wheel itself had some corrosion which has been lifting the plasti dip, so much sure to get off as much of those chips as you can before spraying.

Also I did a final two coats of rustoleum. It takes away the matte finish a little bit, but I took my car through the car wash numerous times and my wheels were fine. Just a thought. Also my wheels were peeling like yours as well. But enough coats and it pretty much holds the original finish together

do something like this.
the dip peeled off my wheels all the time and they looked like crap. Gave me an excuse to buy new wheels though

The downside of putting clearcoat on top of plasti-dip is that it loses it's ability to come off in an easy sheet.

Yes. Made a huge difference. And I dont plan on removing it which is why I did this.

My wheels look like crap and the stuff has a tough time peeling as it is. Best way to peel the small stuff is to spray thick coats over it and peel in a sheet.
In that case you may as well finish sanding and apply some industrial enamel or similar paint
