Questions about the use of 4runner 2016 limited in Europe (Bulgaria)

I have an older model so maybe someone else can confirm. But in your last dash picture - the sideways one - I think the big E is the compass indicator indicating East?

For Navi, what about just using your phone? I've never been to Bulgaria but in Western Europe Google Maps is great.

My 2011 has a 110V outlet in the back and one in the center console. Again, don't know about newer models.

Everyone: I'm in for the night so can't check it but could the Carista app change his units from imperial to metric?

are you sure your center console is not 120watt (12v, 10A)? my 2016 only has 1 120v, but it has 12v in center console.


I can't tell what the webasto thermo top evo/telestart t100 is (intelligent remote start?), if it is an engine block heater you can't run it off the battery. if it is a remote start you shouldn't need 120v.

Perhaps I shouldn't have said center console - it's in the center armrest. 120V AC 400W. 3-prong plug.

I have three 12V outlets: under the radio and heater controls, in the glove box and then in the way-back right next to the 120V AC back there. They're all "cigarette lighter" outlets.

It says it takes 12V, the largest one is 32W max so low amps.

I'm assuming it just needs a switched circuit, you could power this by tapping off any of the 12v outlets if you wanted.

A better solution would be to run a new circuit through a relay, then use a switched circuit to trigger the relay.

I'm assuming the manufacturer has install instructions, contact them

I got different T4R model without LCD screen, but I remember that I had to calibrate compass before I could use it. Check manual for correct procedure, maybe you'll see compass if you calibrate it.

Something is not like that.
I read the manual but found nothing interesting about the compass.
He writes that the compass only have navigation cars but writes nothing about a map or calibration.

Well, I checked but it doesn't really help you. My 2011 has a much simpler display than yours. Carista WILL change from Fahrenheit to Celsius on my truck - but it's a single setting that changes everything: miles to kilometers, gallons to liters and F to C. So yours must have something extra going on. It's worth a try though: the Carista app has a free trial.

Not sure I can be much help here but have a few suggestions. Your owners manual should list where the 110V and 12V outlets are. Remember standard US 110V power is 60 HZ. I know much of Europe is 240V 50 HZ. Many electrical devices have a switch to change from one to the other. It may also cover the US to Metric conversion. Are there any Toyota dealers near you?

also, Garmin makes all sorts of Nav equipment including several systems for aircraft. If you can't find a head unit, you could go with a hand held one for Nav.

Carista is an app on your phone, then you need an OBD2 Bluetooth adapter, but any will do. The one you linked to should work but is expensive. I use this one:

Yes, I found how many and where the power supply leads are.
The Toyota Dealer has a friend of mine, but he is completely unaware of this model and can not help me.
Even as a European dealer there is no access to information or diagnostic equipment for this model.
He did not believe that the car had no tire pressure adjustment button.
But after hours searching with a lamp and reading American forums finally believe me that there is no button
For navigation, I'll use an Android with google

My father bought a new toyota verso and yesterday I tried my techstream and there are quite different parameters set.
What I mean is that the parameters that can be adjusted do not depend on the diagnostic equipment but on what the manufacturer's factory has set in the car.
With my techstream on different cars I set different parameters the car itself says what you can set up.

I'm looking for fuse and relay information.
I'm mainly interested in those about the air conditioner.
I saw two fuses but I do not find a relay.
Are these two boards only one in the passenger compartment and one in the engine compartment?
If only these are fuses and relays where is the fuse and relay for the fuel pump?
I think there should be more relays and fuses somewhere in the car.
And one more question
Does this PTC heater do any good work at low temperatures, for example below 0c/32f
This original wireless starter motor does a good job and at what distance it works.
Are there other wireless starter motors that, for example, run at a certain start-up time for themselves to do the engine startup?
I'm trying to figure out if there are alternatives to the heater I want to install.

If you can't do it with Techstream, you can't do it with Carista.
