How do you remove the coolant recovery tank? Couldn't find it by searching.

**Scroll down to see the solution on how to remove the radiator overflow / recovery tank.

It should just slide up off the bracket. There may be a retainer tab, but that should be the extent of it.

More info: I took the battery bracket off obviously and it looks like it would just lift out but no matter how hard I pull on the tank it won't come up and out.

It slides on a metal bracket. It's a PITA to remove, and you'll need to yank on it. I ended up cracking mine when trying to remove it. Maybe try spraying something on it like WD40.

Solution

Okie dokie. I'm going to rename this thread for posterity's sake incase anyone in the future has trouble removing this thing like I did.

How to remove coolant recovery tank:
1. Remove the overflow hose

2. Remove the bolt that holds the battery bracket to the radiator support and swing the bracket out of the way

3. Reach down to the bottom of the reservoir and push it back slightly towards the battery while simultaneously pulling up. *In the photo below, you will see two indentations and a channel on the back of the recovery tank. You have to push the tank back in order to clear the tabs to remove it. It snaps in sort of.
