Quick Exhaust Question

So as an alternative to a full catback system, I think I'm just going to replace my muffler, cut off the resonator, and add a tip.

I'm looking at replacement mufflers right now and I was hoping you guys might have a few quick answers for me. What size is our stock piping? 2.5"? Also, does anyone know approximate dimensions of the stock muffler so I can find a similarly sized replacement?

I'm looking to have it done this weekend and I want to get the muffler ahead of time.

Why do you want a muffler with similar dimensions? Any muffler shop can weld on any muffler.

I guess I just assumed the installation of a new muffler would be easiest if it was close to stock (maybe for hanger locations?). I suppose it wouldn't make too much of a difference.

Do you know if the piping is 2.5" though? I'd measure it myself, but the truck is FILTHY and there are still a couple inches of snow on the ground, ha.

I'm pretty sure it's 2.5", but I'll let a 4th Gen owner chime in.

Why'd you change your mind about the catback?

i believe its 2 3/4". any muffler shop can make a 2.5" fit.
