Quick help, not starting...

Hey guys, new here, I joined last night after I bought my 96 4runner, v6 3.4 auto....
Went out this morning and no cranking, figured the aftermarket alarm was draining the battery, On my way with a new battery, but if anybody has any other suggestions why it wouldn't crank feel free to reply...
Key goes in, turn to start, just one click sound nothing else and the clock and dash lights dim, when the key is released all the lights go back to normal brightness, this is after charging the battery for 10min on 15amp....

Battery is dead. If not, look to the starter.

It was the starter, pita!, but it's sanded, cleaned and seems to be working for the time being...
