I am trying to decide on some Wheel/Tire combinations and want your input.
I am definitely going the used wheel route. I planned on buying wheels/rims as cheaply as possible and getting new tires, BUT a few deals on CL have peaked my interest. Check out below and share your thoughts.
Deal 1 (One stop shop): Dude has 16" Tacoma TRD wheels with BFG Rugged Trails 265/70/R16. Claims 20k on the tire with ~8/32 of tread. Wants $450 for all. What would you pay? (Snide comments about BFG Ruggeds aside) First pic.
Deal 2 (Two road trips): One guy has 17" Tacoma Wheels, another guy has Hankook Dynapro 235/75/R17 AT's with under 2k miles. You can still see nipples on the tires. Wheels negotiable, tires $400 firm. Thoughts? Second and third pics.
Deal 3 (Closest, but far apart on price): Fella has 16" Tacoma TRD Wheels with old, small tires that need to be replaced. I am not interested in least with the tires on them. Wants $500. I have been watching this for couple of weeks. Keeps reposting every couple of days, but no way I would go above $200, right? Why spend more than that just to throw away his old tires? No pic, basically same as first.
