quick lighting acess ?

Hopefully in the next few days I can install my light bars, I need a power source for the back lit toggle swtiches.(2) They will be mounted next to my locker switch.
Is it easy to tag into the dimmer switch to pull power, if so what color wire am I looking for.

I think the easiest and most reliable way to power switches is with an "add a fuse" in the dash fuse box. Just find a circuit that has key on power and use that one. The dimmer circuit in these trucks is not straight forward. It regulates power by modulating the ground, not the power circuit.

Are you wanting to power the light in the switch? Or the switch itself? And if you are powering the switch is their a relay in play? Reason is the dash lamp circuit is relatively light. And no you can't use the dimmer directly.

power the switch itself for the light. The way the light bar is wired , from the factory, I'm not sure it sends power to the switch. Its a dual light bar with one set of lights being white and the other being amber. The switch that came with it is funky and I'm going to convert it to rockers.....one labeled zombie light the other label is fog's. ( I drive in a lot of fog and snow)
inside the switch is only 3 wires, looks like all the power etc is handled in the engine compartment with relays etc
also with the factory switch you can have only one or the other, with the rockers I want to see if I can get them both to light up at the same time, not that I would use both at the same time
