quick oil pan question

Does the 1985/86 22re engine have an oil pan gasket? We have the pan off and it does not look like it had one???

If it has the grove going around the pan in between the bolt holes, then it does not require a gasket, Just alot of selicone.

Thank you it does have the groves. I just bought a FelPro gasket from a parts store the dealer did not list a gasket for the engine.

I always just use Black Rtv

I would use the gasket and some sealer. Most importantly dont overtighten and make sure to let it sit for about 10 hours before adding any oil...

i had my pan replaced a few months ago and my mechs used black rtv.
