Quick ? on rear ends 01 taco and 00 t4r

Is the complete rear end in a 01 tacoma a direct swap to a 00 t4r? anyone have a definitive answer on this?

Definitely not gonna happen. You can swap the 3rd member but the Taco has leaf springs and the 4Runner has a 4Link/Panhard bar rear suspension.

No, tacomas use leaf springs..

You can harvest that elocker though and retrofit it into your axle.

Edit: also be aware of gear ratios..

leafs... didnt even think of that.. are they wider too?
it does have the 8" e-locker in my 4.10 ratio.. got a little excited for a minute

As long as the gear ratios are the same, you can retrofit an e-locker axle from a Tacoma into a 4Runner.

The non e-locker axles use an 8.4" axle.
