Quick plastidip questions

Sorry if this has been discussed but we all know searching doesn't always give you EXACTLY what you're looking for. But I plan on dipping my grille hopefully next weekend. I was also thinking about my wheels but I'm still debating. I was just wondering if it matters what I clean the surface with? Like dish soap or something? Also to the people who dipped their wheels: how many cans did you use?

one per wheel is best. some use less then later talk about how easy it rubs off. it took changing all my tires to make me have to redo the dip

Agreed, roughly one can per! Check out dipyourcar.com that's their suggestion I believe.

I used our window cleaning solution from the porters, with a microfiber cloth. about 1can per wheel and 1 can for all the emblems. And 1 can for the grill.

I just washed my car and wheels with normal car wash soap and then a few days later b4 I dipped them just rubbed them down with rubbing alcohol to give them a good final clean, then let it dry and began the dipping. Going on 5 months and still looks great.
