Quick question re: black 'SR5' fender flares.

Have a chance to pick a full set of used OEM black 'SR5' fender flares for a decent price. Would like to put these on as Bushwackers are well out of the budget right now. I currently have the SR5 skinny chrome and black trim around the wheel wells held on with several screws/grommets - anybody know what's involved in swapping these out with the larger black ones? Will I need to drill into fender or can I use existing holes plus 3M badging tape? Does the back door require drilling to install the little piece that goes there?

Not sure on how they mount, but I am pretty certain they bolt up to the same holes as your chrome/black strip trim! Those SR5 flares are sexy. I looked for them for 5 years and never found any. Just buy them and you'll figure out how to get them on there...!!

If not just post some photos and people here will help you out.

Uses existing holes and are very easy to just bolt-on.

There are clips. They screw into the fender flair and then clip to the door. The clips are metal and there is a small piece of clear plastic that protects the paint on the door.

The Bushwacker flares required drilling holes and using clips. Be thankful you're not measuring twice or more times before drilling once. lol

Having the OEM SR5 flares attach to the existing holes left behind from the black/chrome fender guards will result in a easier install, especially the door pieces. Sounds like it going to all work out. Look forward to seeing the finished results.

The one thing I dont like about the black skinny flares is they stop too short on the rear of the front flares. They are designed to be incorporated in with the running board or mud flap/guard. Without them it looks kinda dumb and unfinished. Just be aware.
