Quick question

I bought a used 2004 Sport Edition knowing it needed a new motor. after getting it running well I realized that maybe the transmission when I bought it may be from a different year. I've read they are sealed with no dipstick from that year but mine does have a dipstick. Is there a way to tell if its used from another t4r? Is there a VIN on the transmission?

Look for a part number on the trans. T think a 04 has a dipstick.

2004 and 2003 models have a dip stick, 2004 v8 comes with 5speed tranny. 2004 v6 4speed tranny. from 2005 upwards 5speed tranny

As stated the 2004 V8s and some later in the year 2003 V8s all have the 5 speed transmissions and doesn't have a dipstick, the 2003 and 2004 V6s with 4 speed transmissions have a dipstick.

So if you have a 4 speed dipstick, 5 speed no dipstick.
