That situation is totally different from this one, I have a dog and know how hard it can be. That individual shared his grief and it's normal to show some sympathy/empathy. My argument here is based solely on whether or not the driver of that vehicle committed a grievous error in judgement. I've already stated it's sad to see a young father and another man die for no reason. That's not what I'm arguing.

Why? Being compassionate would somehow substantiate my argument or relieve the attacks on my opinion? This isn't anything emotional for me. I don't appreciate people jumping me for stating my opinion based on the few facts that are at hand.

My question still stands.

I'll defend your ability to have an opinion until the day I die. That said, I don't have to agree with it, nor do I have to agree with your presentation of "facts" that haven't been confirmed by anyone on the scene.

Correct but that small mistake at 45 has fewer consequences than that same mistake at 145. Which is why speed limits exist.
Is it possible I'm wrong? Sure. Looking at this picture though, I don't see how anyone can claim 45 mph did this. I'm sure there are plenty of people on this site that have been involved in a car wreck and are somewhat familiar with the damage "normal" speeds can do. I just don't see how that kind of damage would be possible at the speed someone suggested. The aftermath of the M3 wreck that was posted showed it survived going off a cliff at 60-70 better than this Porsche did and that guy walked away.

Agreed on the first part. All I was saying is you don't have to be going fast to lose control. As to the damage, it does seem like alot for the speed limit but then again I'm sure we've all seen the aventador that split in half and wasn't hooning about either. Comparing it to an M3 is not quite fair because of the construction of each vehicle. M3s aren't designed to split in half. I cant explain how many of the panels are gone however. Maybe the explosions that people said they heard, or fire? I dunno, that factor is more consistent with a high speed wreck as you have stated.

The 35 speed limit sign was before the wreck. The 15 suggestion sign was for the upcoming turn they should have been slowing for which they could see.

As an investigator I'm sure you know what all the road signs mean. By that point you should know the suggestion signs are made with every car in mind and not in the best of conditions. A carrera gt is not an everyday car and nor was it icy.

No actual or at least competent accident investigator, would ever jump to conclusions, without being on-scene to investigate what actually happened.

They would also have the knowledge to know that a Carrera GT, is not constructed like the average unibody grocery getter.

I see a dozen posts about RIP Paul Walker, poor guy, what a shame, etc. Apparently he was the only one killed in the vehicle because no one is mentioning anything about the second person that was in the vehicle. Even reading through this thread again I see the majority of the guys here saying RIP Paul Walker. Not many guys here are saying much about the driver.

By now everyone here sees my point of view here and the fact that I don't really have any feelings towards his death and the fact that he did it to himself. But why mourn only Paul Walker? Isn't it a little *******ish to completely forget about the other person killed and only mourn one person because he's a celebrity?

My point with the signs is that what's basically a street legal race car being driven by a professional driver which apparently the guy was, should be able to negotiate that road at a speed higher than your average vehicle. Since something went drastically wrong, how is it not reasonable to think that the vehicle was speeding above and beyond what your average car would be through the same roadway?

As for the edit, I'm aware that having the skills doesn't mean you exercise them everywhere but let's consider what is KNOWN. Race car, race car driver, terrible wreck, lots of damage.

Also, I know people keep saying the car is designed to split apart but I haven't been able to find anything about that. Anyone got a link?

I did find this tho. Except for not being burned, the damage to this Porsche looks similar to the GT. Anyone wanna fathom a guess what the reported speed at time of impact was?
