Rack and pinion high pressure line help

We are changing the rack on an 01 runner and everything came off fine except the high pressure line were down to a pipe wrench on it so we are going to cut it
Is it possible to reflare it? Or dose anyone have one that you would sell a new one is 140 and would rather not spend that much if possible
Any help or advise would be great trucks been down for 4 days gota get it back up

Where did you find the hose for $140?
I'm in the same boat right now, except my high pressure was so stuck to the fitting that when I finally broke the seal between the fitting and the rack, the hose twisted and bent and is totally f#$%ed.

Right now I am so sick of wrenching on this damn rust bucket, I might just sell it when I'm done....

That's what I ended up doing, mine had some mickey mouse repair on it that blew apart off road.

I got it fixed for 20 bucks at a Hydro shop....but I can't get the damn thing to stop leaking.

Can't wait to cut this bull crap front end off

I'll try a couple of the local repair shops near me tomorrow and see if they can do a repair. In the end the only way I could remove the hose from the rack was to cut it off with a hack saw.
Toyota want about $400 for the new hose and the damn thing only comes as an assembly with the high pressure line and the return line all bracketed together. WTF Toyota engineers? Cheapest price i've found online is $270.

We are able to.have it tight welded back togeather for 20$ at a local welding show worked great

Nope, it's garbage. I bought it this spring because I couldn't drive to Napa, and the metal part of the hose is already rusted to hell. It hasn't even seen salt yet and it has rusted severely. I am not sure it will survive the winter when it actually sees salt.

Go anywhere else, you can't get worse than this one IMO. Napa has them for cheaper. If they have it in stock, I plan on going there once this one rusts through.

I just replaced my rack and had the same problem. I managed to get the line fitting free in the rack but it was so rusted so the hose started bending since it wouldn't spin around the line. What I did was free the line from its brackets so I could pull the rack off and unscrew the rack from the hose. So you have to actually rotate the rack itself so it comes off. When the rack was off I torched the crap out of that fitting, held the line with wise grips and put an impact drive to the fitting and lots of penetrating oil. It came loose and I saved the metal line and a couple hundred bucks.
