Radflo / OW coil over noise

Do any of you have any squeeking or loud coil overs, I was planning on getting the 2.0 fronts but seems like people on the toyota120 forum have lot of sounds from them. So thoughts?

They say it's due to not having a rubber isolator? They say icon and toytec have a rubber isolator.

Nope. Don't have that trouble with my 2.0 kit. The most important thing I have found is to power wash every now and then, particularly in winter after getting a lot of mag chloride on them.
 
I had a little bit of a creak when they were new but it went away. The only thing that's making any noise is my driver's side UCA is squeaking because the washers on the bolt were put back in wrong. I think that the recommendation from Andries for any noise from the coilovers was to make sure they're properly cleaned then spray them with a silicon-based dry lubricant like Boeshield if the noise persists.
 
@reklov: what kind of noise are you hearing ? I've recently put the 2.5's on and quiet so far. when are you getting the noise; normal use or off road ?

I've got the 2.5" and I've got some noise. Sometimes it's worse than others, possibly temperature dependent. Been meaning to drive to Radflo and have them have a look. The OW guys spent some time with me (thanks!) to have a look and couldn't really pinpoint the issue, but I didn't have the sound prior to the install. It isn't obnoxious, but prefer it wasn't there at all.
 
The description of the sounds and the conditions under which it occurs is exactly what I am experiencing. The noise went away when I swapped back in the OEM stuff, so pretty sure it is the Radflo shocks. Sounds like a common problem, with no real fix.
 
If I had drive 2000+ mile trip hearing anything out of the ordinary on a 35k vehicle I'd be pissed.

Guess I need to look at icon a little harder.

After I got my Icon install straightened-out, I had the most awful squealing and squeaking coming from my front end you would have ever heard. If you ever had a pickup with worn-out leaf spring bushings it sounded like that, but much worse. At low speeds it would chatter incessantly and it was literally driving me nuts. I brought it to Ducmonsta's shop to have him double check everything, to include tearing the Light Racing UCAs apart and lubing everything they could see. Didn't solve the issue completely right away, but after about 2,000 miles on the suspension since Ducmonsta's shop rebuilt everything I no longer have any noise. Still not sure what was causing the main issue: the Icon components or the UCAs.

The Icons do, according to Icon, have tighter seals than most other manufacturers, so they admit to squeaking a bit more than others. However, I've only heard abnormal sounds from them since I got everything straight when I shake the truck back and forth or I go over a harsh and immediate bump like the end of a driveway or speed bump; it creates a distinct, short-lived mix between a pop and a squeak and I can only hear it with the windows and radio down.

If you want to know more, do a quick Google search for "Icon squeak" and you'll see a bunch of mixed reviews about the sounds Icon suspensions make.

Did you ever put the spacers between the supports to lower them.
The noise your describing is what mine made before I saw where they were rubbing and it got a little better after I drove it like you say yours did. Then I saw where the sway bar was contacting the support,shimmed it with washers and they have been quiet as a mouse ever since and that's more then 2 years now. But I do maintain mine by lubing the shafts and wipers every couple of months with dri-slide.

That's what I was thinking after we couldn't figure-out the source of the issue after a couple of attempts, but Ducmonsta ground-out the radiator supports so that the sway bar didn't hit (this was before we installed the Shrockworks skids) at all. The problem only happened after the suspension was warmed-up for some reason. To be more precise on the issue:

The noise would only happen after driving about two miles or so. After Duc's shop rebuilt the UCAs and re-lubed everything, the same noise happened for about 2,000 cumulative miles until the sound eventually just went away one day. However, after he rebuilt everything it was significantly quieter in those 2,000 miles leading-up to the cessation of the noise.

For some reason, the Nissan vehicles (with the Titan being the winner hands down) are the worst for fitting aftermarket suspension components to them.

We fit our shocks to a wide variety of OE applications without any problems. Race style shocks will be a little noisy as there are no rubber mounts to absorb the road noise transfer into the chassis.

I just installed the 2.0 kit on my truck, and this kit is loud, clunky, and makes too much noise - something sounds off. Too stiff for city driving, the rears make a wobbley sound over small bumps. I had my mechanic take another look, and everything looked installed properly. If I can't diagnose this soon, this could be the worst "upgrade" I've done yet. I hope to come back with a solution soon.

Was the kit used or new? How much do you have the fronts cranked up? Something sounds wrong if you ask me.

Have you been in touch with Radflo?
