Radiator and J B Weld?

Hairline 1 inch long crack on the top of my radiator. Will J B Weld hold that well considering it is metal, or would it be better to use the same silicon like seal that came new on the radiator? Any advice much appreciated.

There's a blob of JBWeld that's held a pinhole leak on top of my radiator for years and years now. Clean the surface real well, mix the weld well, and lay it on thick.

+1 what he said and make sure the coolant level is below the crack (or drained) while you repair it. Best to do it when completely cold and allow to cure overnight. If there is any corrosion file or sand the area around it and remove all oil/grease/coolant. Best to push some in the crack if possible. I use brake cleaner to clean anything I JB weld.

I would add one thing,

I would use the smallest drill-bit I could find and stop the crack at both ends. This will give a little more "tooth" to the JB Weld and stop the crack from traveling.
