Radiator replacement after trans cooler install

Ok guys, I think I have a question that I cant find in the threads. I have done a new trans cooler to keep from getting the old pink milkshake things right. but now I need to replace my radiator due to a crack in the cap. My question is this ... Can I just get a replacement for a manual trans same year model or do I have to go back with the old one for the Automatic then plug up the bottom ports.. Are they the same size and same bolt up pattern..

Should be the same. Or just buy one for an auto and leave the bottom ports plugged or run a piece of hose between them so in case it breaks in the future it keeps the coolant inside the radiator and not on the road.

Good question. Got me to thinking, what about this-
If you have the one for the auto installed and the cooler has a problem, or for some reason you need to remove it for working on the truck, you can use the radiator cooler temporarily.
