I doubt the power pull is gonna fix the antenna issue.

what I would do is follow the coax cable from the front of vehicle to rear. check for any wiring damage when the 4runner was built. cable could have been crushed now its shorted / pinched..

I think that coax runs on driver side kick panel and along the door /floor vinyl strips .. its all taped up so expose the coax ..

if you do find a damaged spot you can splice in a repair rather than change the cable and drop the interior roof liner which is a problem .

I doubt that the shark fin cable connector is damaged unless the roof is leaking etc.. fin have a crack it it ? that could do it .

Yep , what I'm saying is there was/is known problem with the 2010-13 shark fin antenna ! Read the posts UBWine09 goggle search low profile antenna see if that leads you any closer !

I have a 2010 Limited that had the same antenna issues you describe. Bought a new shark fin antenna and when the old one was taken out there was a tiny nick in the wiring that would intermittently short out by touching the metal roof. Fixed the problem.

I tried to find the 2010 SR5 (no Entune) on-line but no dice... Mine is drawn by Mitchell/eautorepair.net. At one time I had 2011 through 2015 cuz there were so many guys here that were having electrical issues that I would order them for one year then if I was still using them I'd just re-order them if need be. But a single 2010 that only needs it for 1 issue is sure to be unused for the duration! Plus the 2010 is so much the 2011 that I don't really need it right now.

If you had the 2010 wiring diagram we could at least see how it's holding the presets; could be that more time is needed to delete the cashe!

Well I finally had a chance to disconnect my battery today. I removed both terminals for about 4 hours 15 minutes. Just hooked everything back up and im getting the same error. Also, radio presets are still saved on radio...

Just an observation:
Newer electronics often use flash memory since it's gotten cheaper, instead of the older RAM technology. RAM memory effectively loses its memory when its power is removed. Flash memory retains its programming even when power is removed. So removing power to the radio may indeed accomplish a reboot of sorts, but the presets could still be retained.

I just bought a replacement antenna and spent a couple hours yesterday replacing it. Still getting the same message with new antenna plugged in and installed.

I did the same and im still showing the same "check antenna" message. Did you have to reset anything or did you simply plug in the new antenna and xm radio worked?

What refresh are you talking about? I plugged in the new antenna, turned on the car and saw same message. Then tried to have xm send a refresh signal and still nothing.

Lost satellite and AM/FM reception

My Sirius reception had gotten progressively worse; worked with their phone techs, refreshed signal, unsubscribed, resubscribed, etc. They suggested going to the dealer saying the 'satellite module' is bad. I hadn't done anything for a couple weeks until today my FM and AM lost signal entirely. So I pulled the 30amp fuse, (no power to radio as a result) and waiting to see what happens after >4hrs. We shall see.

Oddly, all of this has me thinking of selling, even thought the truck runs like a top. Got a quote from Carmax for $11K. (148K miles). I hope the fuse trick works.

Thank you. This seemed to have solved it for me.

This has seemed to work for me. I have a 2020 TRD Offroad. I pulled the fuse for the radio and checked to be sure it did not come on when I had the ignition on. I left the fuse out for 6-1/2 hours. It did seem to solve the "check antenna" issue but it did not clear my presets. Everything was set as it was before I pulled the fuse.

Hi UBWine09,

Open the hood and remove the main relay/fuse box top cover. See a fuse labeled: RAD 20A. The fuse is amber in color (RAD is short for Radio). Pull that fuse and leave it out for A MINIMUM of four hours. Doing this will RESET the hard-drive and processor in the head unit.

When you re-install the fuse you should have lost your preset radio stations (so you may want to write them down to make reprogramming them a snap)! There's nothing wrong with your HU; they will all get full of temporary files and history logs and so... a hard reboot will eventually become necessary.

Once this is done, your tuner/nav system should be as good as new! If this MASTER RESET procedure doesn't resolve the trouble, an operating system update may be needed depending on what software version is running your audio system! Please be sure to report back and let us know how you make out with this simple operating system quick-fix as others here may benefit. 'Best to you',
