Radio volume going up on its own

Last night my 2004 SR5's stock radio started raising the volume by itself. I could turn it back down manually but it would keep going up. Finally got the radio off by holding down the volume knob for a second. Gave it overnight to calm down and just went out and checked on it and it's still doing it. Any suggestions other than "get a new radio"? Thanks!

Is ASL (auto sound leveling) turned on? Mine on some days, volume set at the same level will blast the radio when I turn the key and I have to lower the volume then raise again as I start driving.
