Time to buy a new one!!!!! I’m sure the dealer will give you a “fair” price.

You're not wrong....
My 99 Chevy has as much paint chips as my 21 4runner.

I know right??? I think overall paint has just gotten worse across all manufacturers. cost savings and perhaps environmental constraints. I don't know but I don't like it
You guys are funny. Its rain. Its weather. It happens. Try living in Seattle!
It's a total loss, light it on fire
I'm in Los Angeles. We had a small storm and I had detailed my wife's Lexus the day before. Did a daily maintenance on the paint even though it rained and the vehicle looks brand new. There are ways to pull it off.
I'm also in SoCal and experienced the rain. However I still wouldn't run a towel on it because that's how you get swirl marks. My truck is currently dirty and will probably run it through a touchless wash or just spray it down and air dry at home until I have time to wash it myself.

Since this appears to be a serious question (ffs), have you tried putting it in a bag of rice and restarting it?
