...if you’ve completely blanked for over a year on the fact that we have a storage cubby in the trunk/rear hatch?

Quarantine has brought me a lot of...well...Irish whiskey and projects I always said I’d get to when I had time. That said, today I was organizing my storage drawers I built, and quickly remembered the one storage cubby on the passengers side.

Admittedly, I’ve completely ignored said cubby since I built drawers two/three years ago. But I’ll be, I was like a kid on Christmas morning when I remembered/found it!

For those wondering, I had zip ties, duct tape, various hand tools, mountain house dried foods, (all duplicates of things now in the box), trash bags, doggy poop bags, and....the icing on the cake...a beer koozie I’ve been looking for for years.

I’ve done literally nothing productive today, but I’m pumped to realize my own ignorance/forgetfulness.

How is everyone else’s quarantine projects going?

Once I was pulled over by the fuzz in the 4Runner years ago and they looked around inside for paraphernalia and the like. They were about to leave when I asked if they wanted to look under the rear seat compartment. The officers has no idea it existed and actually thanked me for helping them make a mental note for all future 4 runner searches.

As far as the rear compartment goes, probably seeing a huge rat skeleton in one in a junkyard years ago takes the cake for me.

I tuck a thermal blanket, some food and some small tools in there. Perfect size for those little emergency items.

I found a bottle of hand sanitizer. I'm gonna make a fortune.

I keep the hitch’s in there and rags and work gloves.

I keep jumper cables and 20ft of heavy duty come along strap in there. I don't ever go in there unless there are problems.

It's where I keep tow straps, emergency canned air, flares....

I keep my jumper cables in there, some tools, tire plugs and a can of fix a flat. Any flat I've gotten, usually from a nail or screw or something and mostly slow leaks, I've always tire plugged without pulling wheel off rig.

I took the black box out to mount an amplifier back there. It ended up shorting out, so I now just use that whole cavity behind the black box to hold straps/gloves/safety vest.

I keep two pairs of gloves, a socket set, some white lithium and dielectric grease, spare bulbs and whatever else fits.
