Rake?

What prompted me to purchase another 4Runner was that the rake in the previous generation has been minimized by Toyota. Upon personal review, I can hardly tell if there is a rake to my truck or not. Seems pretty level stock.

I have the 3rd row seat, wonder if that weight has pushed the tail down some? This has been discussed ad-nauseum, but here is my take.

I've got a set of un-used Bilstein 5100's that I had purchased for my FJ and was going to put on the 4Runner, but I think I will wait.

I may be mistaken, but I think there are some specific part number 5100s for the 5th gen front shocks. So I'm not sure the FJ parts would be ideal. And yes from what I've read the third row weight helps level it out a bit. The truck isn't far from level no matter what, it's only 1 to 1.5 in higher in rear typically. Load it down and it'll be level.

Looks good, but I think you do have some rake. The distance from the top of the tire to the fender looks higher in the rear. A set of Bilstein's set to 0.85 will fix that and help the nose dive too.
