Ram Mount Location

Haven't seen any use this location. So I thought I would share. Ram Ball is mounted inside the little square cubby ( which is useless anyways) so no holes would be visible if removed. With the shortest arm and an X Grip my phone os on the perfect location for use without interfering with the shifter. One comment, I put the ball back a bit in the cubby so it would be less visible if I took the arm off, this limits the movement of the arm when adjusting, if I were to do it again I would have the ball flush with the face

Nice! As for being useless, I think it's the perfect size to hold a few packs of gum or a pack of cigarettes.

I don't smoke, but I do leave gum in the truck since I drink a lot of coffee and want fresh breath. lol. Still, that looks like a great place for a RAM Mount. Good job!

I swap in my Ram GPS mount there as well. But I got a RAM suction cup mount when I want to use them both. In my old TRD Taco I had made a RAM Ball that replaced on of the bolts in the handles on the A Pillar (like this

which I planned to use when the Runnner but to my disappointment they didnt put a handle on the driver side. If I can find a decent 10mm bolt in the truck I can use it there

There is one behind the plastic plug for the A-pillar- it's located underneath the airbag indicator. I'd be weary of mounting anything there just due to the proximity to the curtain airbag though. Anything obstructing it could become a deadly projectile upon airbag deployment.

Funny... I had the exact same setup in my Taco - and the same problem in my 4Runner. Ended up using this on the passenger side for my Garmin to connect to my Surface

I did bottom down, if I recall I only did that so the holes would not be visible id I removed it down the road

Nice.. I gotta do this. What size did you use? They have round, square, and rectangle. Currently I have the bar that attaches to the seat bolt, but could use another attachment for the walkie when we go offloading. I also have a ram suction, but that has fallen off the windshield the past couple times (maybe dirty)...

You can try some Woods Powr Grip like this:

It has a little pump and holds very strong. Also has an indicator if it loses suction.

Yea. I was thinking that the mount would be on the upper side of the cubby as well, but that the ball would extend out a bit and at an angle. I may buy this one and play.
