Randomness!

I have a 1999 highlander... With weather getting cold here in Minnesota, I've been having this odd occurrence happening every so often where the brake light on the dash comes on.. It comes and goes....I know the parking brake isn't engaged and I don't notice any increase in resistance when rolling down the road, no loss in mileage other than what I attribute to winter gas

I do know the front brakes are nearing the end of their useful life and will be replaced in the spring but could it be some kind of warning system to let me know that they need to be replaced, I didn't think the system is that intelligent.

It's annoying to have that red light pop out at you out of nowhere

I have had the same thing happen to me despite my pads being new and my fluid being completely topped off. Not sure why it does it, but it hasn't been more than just an annoyance, so I just tolerate it. Keep an eye on your brakes when it does it, because you don't want to ignore it if the light actually comes on for something legit, but other than that, I wouldn't worry too much.

Problem NOT solved, you still live in Minnesota :) Ever get out to the What's Up Lounge? Played many a show there, love them college gals... but HATED loading in and out on that super nasty death trap of a fire escape in the back...
