Hey all,

Been a lurker for over a year now. I wanted to post this type of thread earlier, but wanted to wait until the rig had a little more to show than stock. I picked up this 2011 Trail in July 2012. Been adding things to her thanks in part to the awesome rigs on this site. So many ideas!! Here are a few pictures of what I started with to how she sits today.

First, came from a '97 Limited. Loved this truck, but it was time to upgrade.

I had dual T4Rs for about two months. Wife's car had to hit the street!

Her first "off-roading" trip to do some camping and fishing.

Next was the tailgater beer holders. Love this mod since the first time I saw it. Antman right? Nice!

She likes to go to 49er games!

Around this time I added BudBuilt bump-out sliders, Husky Weatherbeaters and a bunch of other items in my sig. No photos...

I had Bilsteins 5100s installed this week. Leveled out the front nicely and eliminated the nose dive.

Next will be changing to LEDs in the interior and some new shoes. I have my heart set on Duratracs, but it might be overkill for me. We'll see. Thanks again for the ideas, stories, photos, etc. Truly awesome forum that I am now officially part of!

Lookin' good. Good to see another local with a 5th gen. You gotta come out to Hollister with us one of these days. Sign up on toyota120.com to find out when the next trip is. Go niners!

Thanks for the kind words.
RiDE: I'll check out the site and may have to head out sometime. Never been out there. Sounds fun! Cheers.

How are you liking the ride? It looks like you got more than .85 in front. I have a set of bilsteins on the way and some daystar rear spacers(1.5). The plan is 1.75 in front and 285s.

Looks great!

Thanks! I'll go back and check my specs again. If it's more that's cool. The ride is great. Maybe a little stiffer, but in a good way. I can't get over how nice having no nosedive is. They really made a difference. I go back to the shop after about 500 miles to get a "check-up" on them to make sure everything is working properly.

I'm going to attempt the install myself. I'm a little worried about the KDSS but I think I'll be able to figure it out. I'll be using sp8ball/Antman's DIY as a reference.

I REALLY only want to do it once though.

Were your alignment specs still pretty good?

RasJeff - Before and after pictures look great! Can you confirm what you installed?

Is this just 5100's up front (guessing 0.85 setting)? Or did you do spacers to lift the rear as well? Thanks!

Hey Johnny, 5100's on the front and rear. The front is 0.85 and no spacer in the back. Left it at stock level. I'm going in today to the shop that installed them for the 500 mile post install inspection (free of charge). I plan on asking about rear spacer options too. I want new tires soon and 285's might be the way. Just not sure if I need to lift the rear to do it.

Damn this forum!

I added 285/70/17 Duratracs yesterday. Very minor rubbing in reverse at full lock. I'm hoping the alignment will correct this. Getting this done tomorrow. If not, liner mod and or trimming. Opted to get just 4. I have the stock still under the truck. I also did the interior LED swap.

No more rubbing

After putting on the 285s I had some slight rubbing in reverse at full lock. Borrowed a heat gun from work and heated up the liners today. Was able to remold them out of the way very easily. I was going to move the liners via the mod, but thought this might be an easier way to try first. Worked like a charm. :bravo:

Sold my stock Dunlops today via Craigslist. Got $50.00 each. Not bad I guess. They had 37,4xx on them. Better than the $10 Discount Tire was going to charge me to "dispose" of them.

Kinda slow lately on the build front. How it stands now has been awesome and I'm still in love with my Runner. Couldn't be happier with it. Wife and I are in the process of selling our house and buying a new one so focus has been there.

I'm in the same process with the house move.. selling and buying.. I have a couple questions. With the stance you have now. all you did was put the 5100's in front at .85 settings and that leveled your truck out? and you were able to put 285's on with a few remolding to the front liners??? I am really liking how your stance is on your truck. Plus.. where in the world did you get "4X4" decals on you splash guards? that looks awesome! It gives it the true Toyota look for a 4 wheel drive.

Correct on the setting for the 5100's. I used a heat gun to push the fender liners away. Still get a small bit of rubbing on driver side. I just need to find the time to move the liners forward via the mod. The decals I had made at my work. Tradeshow house with a full-blown graphics department. Always loved the 4WD on the Toyota mudflaps.
