Rattle Can Color Match

Has any one used Dupli-Color Perfect Match on body panels? I am getting the 2014 sr5/trail rocker and trim so I can mount sliders on the truck. Reading how to threads it looks like i should do primer, 3 coats Dupli-Color BTY1619 Magnetic Gray Metallic Toyota Exact-Match and then 4 coats of clear. Has any one done this and how does the finish look? My other question is how much would a paint shop charge for the two rockers and two rocker flairs?

For rockers you should either use a spray material called gravel guard over the paint or, to follow the theme of a TE you should just spray them with black bed liner from a rattle can. The TE rockers are always black. This way its easy to fix and no worries on matching.

The match is pretty good. The problem is that it takes a bit of work to get all to stick correctly and the finish isn't quite on par. I have done some and will be busy removing it this weekend - annoying.

I do have to say that the match is pretty damn good on the color.

I'd say the color is a great match. I used it on my emblems and they work great. I haven't sprayed the trim yet but plan on doing the bumper this weekend.

Make sure you get flex primer if you are painting plastic. You can get a spray bomb made with the exact color at any decent automotive paint place.

I just ordered from these guys for a bumper piece I'm replacing. I feel it would be a better match than an over the counter spray. Their website is also helpful in describing what you need and how to make the repair.
