Rattling noise

Hello folks!
Recently my toyota 4runner has started to rattle when I accelerate. I haven't looked underneath the engine but the noise starts when I go over 1000rpm and it doesn't stop until I hit 50+ MPH. I drove the car from Ct to Georgia recently and I had no mechanical issues and no lights have come up on the dash. I have heard that I may have to lube the drive shaft or it may be some heat shield from the exhaust, however it sound like it's coming from the headers or something. Has anyone had this problem before? I am thinking about taking it to the toyota dealership but I'd like to do my own research before I take it to them. This is my first 4runner and I don't know much about them because I have driven BMW's for the past 10 years.

Thank you

not sure what year you have but mine has a similar rattle. it comes from a plastic shield behind the drivers side front left tire. its not secured very well and several members have fixed this with double sided automotive tape and larger plastic retention clips
