RCI Aluminum Gas Skid Installation Question

I hear ya dude - I'm in the process of installing my ARB bumper and I'm 2 evenings into it so far. Terrible instructions - the install feels like it should only take a few hours, but I'm into it for about 7 hours now. Terrible pics and incomplete explanations of steps.

ARB install shouldn't take that long. Yes, instructions suck but recognize there is way more hardware provided then what you will use which makes it a bit confusing. A few of us on this board have the ARB installed and feel your pain. If you have any questions happy to help or point you to others that have done that same install. Also, do a search and some folks have picture walking through steps.

As far as I know, SR5s don't have those support tubes, so I don't think you are missing anything. As for being in a wreck, I hope that not the case, that would suck if the dealer royally screwed you. For the spacer, I would use something bigger that that circular piece of aluminum. That look like it would concentrate a lot of force on the crossmember/skidplate. You should get some scrap metal or big washers.

I have a 2014 SR5 and it has the tubes all of the newer body style 4x4's I have looked at have them don't know about the 2wd folks though. As for the exhaust hanging low the rubber hangers stretch with time and allow the exhaust to sag. Here are two solutions besides spacers on the skids that can lower ground clearance.

I have used this on the trail when I got the dreaded exhaust rattle! The good thing about the hose clamp mod is you can always adjust it for added clearance.



Here is what I use now a polyurethane hanger which gets rid of the sag from the stock hanger. Both of these lift the exhaust up a fair amount.
