Keep an eye on your USPS mail, my hardware came in a separate small box. Easier I imagine with how they ship their sliders so the hardware isn't lost in transit.

Got around to washing the underside of the truck and put my skids on today. Here they are laid out before the install. The most difficult part was installing the transfer case crossmember. Otherwise it was pretty straight forward.

So I didn't realize I should have ordered the front filler plate. Do I need this? I just ordered the front skid plate. Will that work on it's own or do I need the front filler?

You won't have any places to mount the nuts for the rear mounting holes on the filler plate. The stock front skids has access holes where you'd put the nuts for the filler plate, the RCI won't. You can still screw in the front nuts on the stock filler plate but it won't be secure in the rear. I mean you could wedge (and possibly trim) it up above the RCI front skid since it's just plastic but it's not an exact fit.

For those who received steels skids, did you have any trouble installing by yourself or did you need a hand to support the skids while you installed?

A good floor jack makes a world of difference. If not, get a friend to help. I'm a pretty strong dude and the steel skids on my 4Runner would kick my ass every time I had to put them on or take them off. Got a good floor jack and it was a cake walk. Center the skid on the jack, move it to where you need it, and jack it up into place.

If I had gotten steel skids again I would have made a little attachment for my jack to give the lifting point a wider base. It's a bit awkward to balance them on the jack sometimes.

Received and installed my aluminum skid yesterday. My wife commented how nice it looks and then laughed saying it will not look like that for long.
