re-greasing ball joints

Hi all, quick question...

I have 175k on my 2008 and I've been watching my ball joints for a while. Not for any particular reason but a couple times I've wondered if I'm getting close to needing a replacement. If that becomes something I need to do, I'll go with Moogs. After some conversation with Darklight, and a few others, It seems they ought to be just fine. However, mine are still doing fine. No play in them at all. I know there is a kit to re-grease and re-boot, but I'm wondering about just using a needle fitting on my grease gun to add some more grease in there. Anyone ever gone this route? Is there an effective way to seal up the pin hole or does it really matter? Would there be enough seepage to even worry about? I sort of looked at them to see if there's a way to go in around an edge but it doesn't look like it, especially without having a curved needle fitting (which I've never seen). Any opinions (and If my idea is just nuts, go easy on me... :))

somewhat senseless , as the grease would never get into the bottom of the socket where the ball sits , as a greasable zerk joint will push grease from the bottom up around ball and out totally encasing ball in grease .
