Hi to all the members. Hopefully if all goes well I will be joining your ranks as a 4Runner owner in the next week. I have a question regarding the stereos. I am having trouble finding a V8 Sport 4x4 with the JBL Synthesis. I have found one in Galactic Grey which I like that has the JBL. The other one is a black V8 Sport 4x4 but has the premium in dash 6 CD but not the JBL 10 speaker system. My question is, is the JBL that much better? Is it worth it? I can get the black one at a better deal but really wanted the JBL stereo but if its not worth the extra jing then I will go with the premium. Oh and I know some will say get the cheaper stereo and just put a better system in it yourself but I don't do that type of thing to my vehicles so that's not an option. The only thing I may do is have leather installed. Thanks for your help.

Thats the truth right there. The JBL system is a decent premium sound system package. The only thing I'd change is to add more bass because the 8" sub in the rear is really lacking. Add an aftermarket AMP and sub and you've got an awesome sound system.
I thought the same thing, go to the dealer and lsiten to both and see if there is a difference. I am going to try hard to get the one with the JBL in it. If it doesn't work out then I will start thinking about the Premium 6 CD and see how I like it. I am one of those people who doesn't like to settle. I know what I want in the 4Runner and I won't be 100% happy unless I have it that way. Now if I listen to both and don't see a huge difference in the systems then I will be happy either way.

I don't know if it's just me being crazy.....but it seems as though the JBL has either gotten better or grown on me over the years.
In my 03 LTD, I was not overly impressed with it.....but in the 05 Ltd it seems much better. Maybe a larger amp was added from 04-->05?? As a result, I really like the JBL in my 05....has better staging and clarity than expensive aftermarket setups I've had in other vehicles.
Not to say it can't be improved on......but I find it solid.

Well I just closed the deal on a 2006 Galactic Grey Sport V8 with JBL Synthesis. I pick her up tomorrow night.
I got the salesman to give it to me at invoice with 3.9 for 60 plus they gave me $900 more on my trade than anyone else.

Picked it up last night, awesome vehicle.
Very, very happy with the purchase. The V8 has got some juice. I traded a 04 GTO with 350HP for the Runner and am very very happy. I will try to get some pics and get them in the gallery section. It is actually nice here today in Pittsburgh.
