Rear Air Suspension Stiffness and Height Button Issue – 4Runner 2004 X-REAR

Hi everyone,
I have a 2004 4Runner Ltd V8 with rear air suspension (X-REAR system), 138,000 km. A few weeks ago, the shocks became all sudden rock hard. Right away i noticed that the height control button didn’t work and there were no blinking lights (or any errors).
The next day, the button started working again, so give it a try and activated it a few times (lowering and raising the car) and the ride returned to normal smoothness like nothing happened.
Last night after going over a bump, the same issue came back — shocks are very stiff, not like last time but still stiff, and the height button doesn’t respond again. Fuses are ok I guess the compressor is stuck.
Could this be just the compressor, relay, or height sensor problem? Anyone had a similar issue? I am ready to delete the Xrear and go with the 5160 eventually but I suspect the issue isn't in the xrear but in the airbags? Is there a way to manually inflate the airbags to fix it temporarily? Anyone had similar issue?

If the compressor is stuck, it might not be inflating the airbags properly. Listen for any unusual noises when the system tries to activate. I think you can manually inflate the airbags if you have access to a portable air compressor. Look for the air lines connected to the airbags and see if you can find a way to connect your compressor to inflate them directly.
